IBM/AIX System Administrator
Hayward
Our Field Operations Center in Hayward, CA has an immediate opening for a full time IBM/AIX System Administrator. The position entails installing and evaluating software, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems
- Perform system backups and recovery
- Answer technical queries
- Perform system performance tuning
- Troubleshoot any reported problems
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has solid knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within IBM multi platforms and demonstrates exemplary level of customer service skills during direct contact with clients.
- 3+ years system administration experience
- BS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Command line skills and experience in AIX
- Scripting skills in perl, shell
- Strong Hardware skills.
- Experience in a variety of disaster recovery tasks
- Hands on experience with Tivoli Storage Management (TSM) a plus
Compensation
FTE: $60 - $80K yearly DOE, Health, life, dental, disability insurance; Paid time off; 401(k); Paid training
